Brown Rice Pilaf

The “pilaf” method refers to the toasting of the kernels before adding seasoned liquid to be absorbed. This creates a no hassle side that is easy on the mouth and nutritious as well.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Butter Unsalted
  • 1 cup Brown Rice
  • 1 Garlic Clove Minced
  • 1 Onion Small; Diced
  • 1 Celery Stalk Small; Diced
  • 1 Carrot Small; Peeled; Diced
  • 2 cups Water

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in small saucepan. Add rice and toast for 5 minutes.

  2. Add in onion, celery, carrot, and garlic and cook for 1 minute longer.

  3. Add water and bring to a boil.

  4. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.

  5. Fluff with a fork.
