Sweet and Sour Cabbage

A twist on a classic side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion Sliced
  • 1 Green Apple Peeled; Thinly sliced
  • 1/2 Head Red Cabbage Sliced
  • 1 Cup Chicken Broth Low sodium
  • 1/4 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • Salt and Pepper To taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large sauté pan. Cook onion and apple until soften, about 5 minutes.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.

  3. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat for 30 minutes.

  4. Discard the bay leaf and cinnamon stick before serving.
