Taco Meat

Serve in taco shells with grated cheese, shredded lettuce, and diced tomatoes.

  • Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb Ground Beef 90% Lean
  • 5 Tsp Chili Powder
  • 3 Tsp Cumin
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp Crushed Red Pepper
  • 4 Taco Shells
  • 2 Oz Cheddar Jack Cheese Reduced Fat

Instructions

  1. In large sauté pan, cook off ground beef until fully cooked. Using a fork, break down the meat into a very fine texture.

  2. Add enough water to cover meat. Add in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper.

  3. Allow to simmer for 30 minutes letting the water evaporate. Add enough water to cover meat a second time and, again, simmer slowly until water evaporates, leaving about ½ cup of liquid in the bottom of the pan.

  4. Serve in taco shells with grated cheese, shredded lettuce, and diced tomatoes.
