Empowering Chefs Building New Tools

We successfully launched Cooking and Nutrition During Cancer Treatment, our first online chef certification course, which gives foodservice professionals and caregivers hands-on skills for cooking through cancer treatment.

The course teaches participants nutritional essentials and the importance of ingredient selection and cooking techniques when preparing meals for those undergoing cancer treatment and recovery.

We brought together Certified Master Chefs Ron DeSantis and George McNeill, along with Chef Martin Breslin Director for Culinary Operations at Harvard University, and Hannah Dalpiaz RD, LDN, Senior Oncology Dietitian/Nutritionist at Dana Farber, to bring you this enjoyable and educational tool.

This course is approved for 2.0 continuing education hours toward the initial or recertification application for ACF certification, and is free to professionals. More than 25 foodservice professionals have already participated!

Research Advancing Research and Partnerships

Behind the scenes, we continued building partnerships and relationships to help advance our mission of better understanding the unique needs of those going through cancer treatment. We are working with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on a new research study, Nutrition Algorithms for Cancer Health Outcomes (NACHO), which aims to address these challenges by developing a personalized, algorithm-driven toolset to help patients better manage their nutritional needs throughout treatment.

We were also present at some of the top food and nutrition shows in the country, including the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE), to advance awareness of our mission.
